Who Stamps my Passport ?

We would ask for all school-led Learning Activities to be acknowledged in your child’s passport by their school. Activities need not be added separately each week – but half termly or termly (if this is not possible we would ask you to provide us with some evidence of school clubs attended and we will add the appropriate hours for you)

For activities at Public Learning Destinations children should normally have their Passport to Learning stamped by the learning provider. If this is not possible, the New Forest co-ordinator can add the hours if provided with proof of participation.

DfE ‘My Activity Passport’ and Children’s University:

In December 2018 the government launched ‘My Activity Passport’ – a list of activities that children are encouraged to do each school year. Here at Children’s University we’re encouraged to see the Department for Education show such commitment to learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Each year over 110,000 children take part in learning beyond the classroom as part of Children’s University and gain essential skills that improve their future life chances.

How Children’s University can work with ‘My Activity Passport’ in your school

Children’s University is a successful and long-established model for encouraging, tracking and celebrating participation in learning activities beyond the classroom. We validate activities and quality assure them to ensure all children are gaining what they should from taking part. The activities included in ‘My Activity Passport’ are no different – our experienced managers can support you in making sure that you have a framework in place for recording what children are doing.

Personalising your school’s passport

As ‘My Activity Passport’ is a document designed to be edited to suit local needs and the cultures of individual schools, we are able to support schools in creating a bespoke passport that reflects the ethos of your school.

Adding value to ‘My Activity Passport’

By running ‘My Activity Passport’ as part of Children’s University, schools will have the added value of being able to celebrate participation with graduation ceremonies complete with certificates, caps and gowns. Students will also be encouraged to access learning opportunities online via our new forthcoming digital platform, at school and in the local community beyond those listed in ‘My Activity Passport’. This includes activities engaging students with FE and HE, local businesses, and the community beyond school.
