WHAT IS CHILDREN’S UNIVERSITY
The New Forest Children’s University provides all children aged 5-14 years with the opportunity to take part in exciting and creative learning activities outside of the normal school day. The activities can be before school, during play and lunchtimes, after school, at weekends and during the school holidays. Here in The New Forest we are being supported by The Hive, a charity, who have successfully been delivering Children’s University in Croydon.
HOW IT WORKS
Children have a Passport to Learning and every time they attend a New Forest Children’s University activity, they earn Learning Credits. 1 hour of learning = 1 Learning Credit. When they achieve 30, 65, 100, 130, 165, 200+ Learning Credits, they are invited to a Graduation Ceremony at The University of Winchester to receive certificates in front of their friends and family
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Many schools have signed up to be a member of The New Forest Children’s University and children can buy their Passport to Learning through them. However, we are fully inclusive, and have a Family Membership scheme for families who would like to participate in this scheme but their children are not attending a school in membership or they are Home Educators.
